Synopsis
New London 2029 Ꚛ In a global society where personal relations are a privilege, we find Augustin, “chief technology officer” of a multinational corporation. Submerged in a working routine that places him at the edge of the void, Augustin lives in anxiety. In order to break with all the monotony, he searches for someone able to integrate into his repetitive life cycles. The peculiar relationship between Nana, his new mate, is altered by a new situation; a third element cuts into their relationship. This will make her question her own existence.
Description
GINOIDE (Gynoid) is a robot with a female resemblance, designed mainly for sexual purposes. Nana was built following the stereotyped canons that objectify women. Rules that prevail in our neoliberal society, where consumption sets the rules that our bodies, real or fake, have to obey.
Inspired in series and films such as The Handmaid’s Tale, Black Mirror or Ex-Machina, the relationship between Nana and her owner Augustin, will make us think about sentimental as well as sexual relationships. Where is humanity heading to? What will happen to the reproduction of our species?

Nermin Gönenc (edition & moderation)
„EXPRÉSATE! Kreativradio“ 105,4 FM Sputnikradio, Palma de Mallorca“«Fuck and love = mother» one of the «commands» on the microchip of the Lover Doll.”
“… This great work floods you and takes you to your limits. It affects us all and we become “voyeurs” in her galaxy.”
“Ingeniously thought out, staged and presented.”
Nanda Hernández (journalist, writer & actress)
“Catalina Carrasco exposes her dance in an impressive way, playing with her body like a doll and turning it into something that Augustin handles at will.”
“Catalina’s work in this regard is admirable. The result leaves the audience shocked and breathless. The work is disturbing.”
