Sinopse

A queer, and cybernetic, science fiction narrative inspired by the myth of the Sibyl and the speculative fables of Donna Haraway.
The Sibyl is a prophetess from Greek and Roman mythology who, as such, knows the future.
The Catholic Church assimilated the character of the Sibyl. The Song of the Sibyl, a medieval piece that announces the arrival of Judgment Day, is very present in Majorcan culture and is still being performed in its churches.
Cybil·la is a cyborg that pushes the human body to experiment with physical and biological limits. It speculates on the possibilities of connecting, upgrading, or mutating in relation to the triad of machine-human-animal.
It is an evolved being capable of traveling between the past, present, and future with a clear message: The end of the world and salvation for those capable of dancing and loving.

Description

Cybil·la, accompanied by technological devices, poetically dialogues with the possibilities of reacting to the transitional moment we are living as human beings, straddling the sixth extinction and the fourth industrial revolution. Without despairing, it seeks to weave hopeful networks and understand this transition as an opportunity. This solo also reflects Donna Haraway’s Cyborg Manifesto. A queer body as a metaphor pointing towards other ways of watching the world.
